Welcome to Cataract Elementary!

Dear Parents and Guardians:

We hope this letter finds you and your child(ren) well and ready to join us this academic school year.  On behalf of the Cataract faculty and staff, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to you for entrusting us with your child(ren).  We are looking forward to your partnership.

As School Administrators, our over-arching goal is to maintain a safe, orderly and accepting environment so that students are afforded the opportunity to succeed socially, emotionally and academically within our nurturing school community.  In order to ensure the above, we would like your assistance with the following:

·       Keep contact information current: please call the Main Office when your address and/or phone number changes (716-278-9120)

·       Communicate regularly: we communicate using several platforms; please feel free to respond or ask questions at any time. Various modes of communication are utilized by the school and/or teachers.  A few examples are:
Monthly newsletter
Facebook
Auto-dialer calls and phone calls
Conferences/meetings
Notes/Permission slip
Remind/DoJo

·       Maintain safety: when entering our campus or school building, please be mindful of posted rules such as speed limits and regulations; always be prepared to show identification when entering the school building and expect to enter through either our evolve weapons detection system, Raptor or a metal detector wand

·       Promote independence and accountability: assist us with teaching your child(ren)how to take ownership of their learning and their behavior by encouraging them to do their very best, both academically and socially

We are very excited to learn and grow with your family.  Please do not hesitate to contact us, should you feel the need.

Sincerely,
Angela Manella (Principal)
Michael Corsaro (Assistant Principal)
